Lightly coat meat surface with rub prior to cooking, smoking, or grilling. It is also excellent added to baked beans, casseroles and potato dishes. Especially good on seafood. Store in a dry place. Made in the USA.


Sugar, Salt, Dehydrated Garlic & Onion, Spices, Molasses Powder (Molasses, Wheat Starch, Silion Dioxide, Soy Lecithin), Paprika, Natural Flavors Including Smoke and Pecan Type Flavors (Contains Milk), Maltodextrin, And Less Than 2% Soybean Oil Added As A Processing Aid. Contains: Soy, Wheat, Milk.

The USDA states that a “best by” date is used as a guideline for a product to be on the shelf before purchase.  It is in no way an expiration date.  According to the USDA most products are safe to consume long after the ‘best by” date has passed. All Fat Boy Natural BBQ 4 oz. rubs have a “best by” date of three years after packaging. Any products that are “short dated” are sold at a discount and the date is stated in the listing when purchasing the product.

I was looking for a new rub that would work well with fish and noticed the pecan rub. I’ve found it to be perfect for salmon. I pat the salmon dry, then cover the meat with honey and liberally apply the pecan rub. I smoke it over indirect coals on a sheet of aluminum until flaky. The pecan rub is just perfect. This is one of the best pecan rubs that we have tried. We usually buy it at Hy-Vee locally, but they seem to always be out of it. That tells you it must be good if they are always sold out!!! We absolutely love this on pork and chicken recipes. It is a great replacement for seasoned salt in any recipe (at least we think so). It works well with savory or sweet recipes and just about any barbecue recipe you can find!!!
